Colonial Arrack

Step into a world where tradition meets innovation with our Colonial Arrack. This drink is a symphony of flavours, weaving together the rich notes of Rockland Arrack, the sweetness of local Jaggery, and the distinctive touch of our housemade bitters. It's not just a beverage but an experience transcending time and borders. Each sip of The Colonial Arrack is a journey through the craft and culture that inspired its creation.

The Colonial Arrack is a unique blend of Rockland Arrack, local Jaggery, and house-made bitters, offering a smooth, sweet, and subtly spiced experience. Its robust warmth, local Jaggery, and subtle bitters create a unique and enjoyable experience. We top off The Colonial Arrack with a carefully chosen piece of dark chocolate, adding a velvety richness that perfectly complements its complex flavors for an indulgent finale.

Arrack Unplugged

Arrack was discovered more than 2000 years ago and is popular amongst Sri Lankans, Indians and a few other South Asians. The spirit of arrack, a classic distilled beverage with ancient roots, is the essential component of Colonial Arrack. The drink is crafted using a straightforward combination of water and distilled sap derived from the unopened coconut flowers of the coconut palm native to Sri Lanka, where toddy is aged into arrack. Sri Lankan arrack is considered one of the oldest distilled spirits globally. It possesses a distinctive, slightly sweet taste with notes of coconut and palm. Coconut Tapping

Jaggery : Nature's Sweet Serenade

The natural sweetness of jaggery, which is made from condensed sugarcane juice, balances the strong notes of arrack. Although jaggery doesn't include refined sugar, it has its own natural molasses, which adds a rich flavour that melds perfectly with the subtleties of arrack. Jaggery is praised for its alleged health advantages, as it contains vital minerals and antioxidants, in addition to its use as a sweetener.

Jaggery

Combining arrack, jaggery, and aromatic bitters results in a drink that pays homage to the historical influences and cultural crossroads of its components. The arrack provides a robust backbone, while the jaggery adds a nuanced sweetness that dances on the palate. A dash of aromatic bitters introduces layers of complexity, elevating the Colonial Arrack to a sophisticated and multidimensional drink.
